Captain Ryan is the first female Captain to open a new division in LAPD history.

Captain Maureen Ryan is a Los Angeles native, raised in Pacific Area. She holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Education degrees from Loyola Marymount University. She completed her undergraduate work at Loyola University, in Rome, Italy.Captain Ryan taught elementary school in Brentwood and Lennox for seven years before joining the Los Angeles Police Department in January 1988.After graduating from the academy at the top of her class, she worked a variety of assignments in West Los Angeles, Valley Traffic and Van Nuys Divisions.

In February 2015, Captain Ryan was assigned to Topanga Area as the Commanding Officer. Prior to coming to Topanga Area, she served as the Valley Traffic Division Commanding Officer, as well as the Mission Patrol Commanding Officer.

Charity Golf Tournament

We are officially announcing the Brooks & Brooks Foundation/Pacific Lodge Youth Services CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT, to be held on March 23, 2015,at the Woodland Hills Country Club.

Pacific Lodge Youth Services will use the funds raised to support the continued expansion of Ben's House, a Transitional Housing Program. This program is aimed at providing services for young adults, aged 18-24, who have transitioned out of the foster care system and are living independently, going to college or working. Pacific Lodge is currently in the process of expanding services from 6 to 36 clients by summer of 2015.

Brooks & Brooks Foundation will use the funds raised at the CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT to provide essentials to foster children (birth to 18 years), new musical instruments and equipment for Cleveland High School in Reseda, establish an athletic program for 450 students attending Ingenium Charter School in Canoga Park, and educational supplies and resources for Reseda Elementary School.
