A Vision of Health (AVOH) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, founded in 2012 by Debora Wright, which is dedicated to providing the highest quality breast cancer screenings and prevention services to women throughout Southern California, regardless of their ability to pay.
We offer high quality, digital mobile mammography services on our 40 foot mobile coach. We accept all insurance except HMO's and Kaiser. We can also bill the Every Woman Counts Program if women meet qualifications.
We offer comprehensive nutrition and exercise courses, A New Leaf Prevention Program, in alignment with the CDCs National Diabetes Prevention Program. We focus very heavily on nutrition and exercise as a form of disease prevention, and work very hard to promote a healthy lifestyle.
We also have an ongoing internship program with California State University, Northridge and the Department of Public Health Promotion.
Accomplishments:
Starting in 2012, AVOH began collecting data on the efficacy of preventative educational, nutritional, and lifestyle programs in the fight against breast cancer.
In 2014, AVOH applied for recognition with the CDC's National Diabetes Prevention Program. We currently have pending recognition, and we completed our first year long program in July, 2015.
Every year since October 2013, along with Inner Images, AVOH sponsors on site mammography screening/ lifestyle education events for under and un-insured women, at the Los Angeles headquarters of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG.)
In August 2015, AVOH contracted with the City of South Gate Department of Parks and Recreation, and started it's second program based on the CDC's National Diabetes Prevention Program.
