CD3, CD12, OCB Community Cleanup & Resource Fair Event

The Office of Community Beautification (OCB) Keep Los Angeles Beautiful Advisory Board will be hosting a community cleanup and mini resource fair on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024. At the resource fair, residents will have access to giveaways that promote sustainability and will have the opportunity to transform old materials into either upcycled planters and/or bird feeders. In addition to collecting 1,000 pieces of trash at each event, the goal is to encourage residents to take ownership of their communities, increase civic engagement, provide education on waste and recycling, and encourage volunteers to help make our communities cleaner, greener and more sustainable. Among these giveaways currently still include trees, but also rain barrels, compost pails, and other goodies. 

Technically there are two events on the same day, a Community Cleanup & a Resource Fair. The Community Cleanup will be held earlier in the morning at the Cornerstone Christian Church at the Parthenia / Winnetka while the Resource Fair will be held later in the morning at the Winnetka Rec Center down the street. In other words, we'll be having two separate event hubs on this day. Volunteers who wish to participate in the Community Cleanup are encouraged to arrive between 8:30 AM and 8:45 AM at the Cornerstone Church to enjoy some coffee, donuts, and receive instruction. Volunteers may use the church parking lot when arriving, but also may park at the Rec Center if they don't mind a little bit of a walk. The cleanup will likely commence between 9:00 and 9:15 AM.
